Camberwell Civic Centre

Working within the confines of an established site and heritage buildings, MDG proposed a dramatic series of new spaces, designed to engage strongly with the community and encourage public events. A series of broad terraced amphitheatre steps traverse the base of the Library, wrapping as a constant datum that provides flexible seating and gathering spaces. The civic plaza addresses the lack of public civic space within the Camberwell area and provides a brave and bold vision for this important site.
