Aqualink Surrey Park

The redevelopment of Aqualink in Box Hill provides a major new community facility including swimming pool surrounds. Angular forms repeat a variety of configurations across the site, expressing pavements, stairs and seating elements. The landscape and architecture are interwoven and result in a contiguous outcome. An existing lawn area has been retained and expanded to enable outdoor gatherings and events.

Surrey Park is also an important recreational facility located adjacent to Aqualink. MDG prepared a precinct masterplan in 2014 for the area surrounding Surrey Dive to propose a consistent design aesthetic and unify formerly disparate areas. A major component of the project was extensive regrading to unsafe embankments and insertion of new stair access linking to Aqualink.
